An exercise in beautiful deterioration. A relic of a bygone era, slowly being reclaimed by something otherworldly.
Inspired by the delicate intricacies of antique lace corsetry, The Muse Corset reimagines the fragility of centuries-old textiles through the permanence of stainless steel. Intricate webs of chainmail appear to unravel and decay across the body, their once-ornate structures interrupted by organic formations resembling wounds, growths and exposed flesh.
Handcrafted using Catholic Guilt’s proprietary Alien Flesh Wound technique, the corset is punctuated by deep red carnelian stones, embedded within the metal like droplets of blood or precious remnants of a former life.
The result is a study in the tension between preservation and decay, delicacy and brutality, the sacred and the grotesque. An antique heirloom from a civilisation that never existed, suspended somewhere between armour, lingerie and archaeological artefact.
Each Muse Corset is individually made to measure, meticulously constructed to follow the contours of its wearer.
