An heirloom from a civilisation that never existed. A delicate relic of something once beautiful, now slowly surrendering to decay.
The Muse Purse reimagines the antique evening bag through the otherworldly language of Catholic Guilt. Meticulously handcrafted from stainless steel using our proprietary Alien Flesh Wound technique, its intricate chainmail construction resembles the deteriorating lacework of a forgotten century, interrupted by organic formations that appear to grow, rupture and consume the metal itself.
Deep red carnelian stones emerge from the tangled surface like precious wounds, their rich, blood-like colour contrasting against the cold permanence of steel. Delicate cascading chains lend movement to the piece, evoking the remnants of an ornate Victorian accessory unearthed from some imagined archaeological site.
Neither entirely functional object nor purely decorative sculpture, The Muse Purse exists somewhere between jewellery, artefact and bodily relic.
